In addition to spotlighting remarkable stories of seniors across the Philadelphia area, STORIED has also taken on the project of preserving the memories of residents at senior living communities. Working with the staff at the Waverly Heights assisted living center, STORIED has recorded the life stories of over twenty-five residents. These accounts are compiled in a book for all residents, staff, and families to get to know those living around them while building a stronger sense of community. The chance for seniors to share their stories helps them maintain their memories and provides lively intergenerational interactions that are enriching to both seniors and youth. By creating a collection of seniors’ stories for senior living communities, STORIED unites communities, preserves legacies, and creates meaningful relationships across generations.
